description: | The project involves an analysis of the general part of the Estonian civil code, the Estonian property law, and the Estonian law of obligations (both contractual and noncontractual obligations), and compares their respective provisions with the European civil code currently being drafted. Among the issues to be considered will be an evaluation of the possible effects and problems that the new European code will pose on Estonian civil laws, and, conversely, identify possible requirements of Estonian code that should be considered in the draft European code presently under preparation. The result of this effort should materially contribute to the advancement and maturation of Estonian civil law, and enhance the stature of Estonian civil law in the development of European civil code. Results will be published and the principals performing the evaluation will contribute their knowledge gained in this study to the process of creating the new European civil code as well as in the future enhancement of the Estonian body of civil law.¿¿¿¿¿ |
