Since 1984 - Participation in the research projects of the Department (later Institute) of Pharmacy in Tartu University. Studies about medicinal plants (phytochemistry), social pharmacy, history of pharmacy and folk medicine. The results on these studies are reflected in ~140 research papers, also in ~100 thesis and abstracts. Since 1990 - Creator and first editor-of-chief of national pharmacy journal "Eesti Rohuteadlane" ("Estonian Pharmacist"), 2000-2005 the member of editorial staff of journal 1994...1996 - A creator, editor and publisher of National Drug Catalogue Pharmaca Estica Since 1991 - An expert on herbal medicines in national drug regulatory authorities (Estonian Centre on Medicines, from 1993 Estonian State Agency of Medicines) 1997-2004 - A member of the expert group of the European Pharmacopoeia (phytochemistry) Since 1999 - A member of the expert comission of Estonian Pharmaceutical Terminology Since 1991 - An expert on herbal medicines in national drug regulatory authorities (State Agency on Medicines) Since 2003 - an expert of WHO Department of Technical Cooperation for Essential Drugs and Traditional Medicine on herbal medicines 2003-2006 - Head of the Chair of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Organisation at the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Tartu 2004-2006 - a member of the Council of Medical Faculty Since 2004 - an alternate member of Committee for Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC)of EMEA in London.
