Tegevus Eesti Mereinstituudis:*1992- 2000.a. täitsin sektorijuhataja kohuseid Eesti Mereinstituudis. * alates 1995. olen FAO Mereteaduse ja Kalanduse Infosüsteemi ASFIS Eesti Riikliku Keskuse ekspert. 11.2. Osalemine kaitsmisnõukogudes: *alates 2002- TPÜ bioloogiamagistritööde kaitsmise nõukogu liige; 11.3. Osavõtt Rahvusvahelise Mereuurimisnõukogu (ICES) tegevusest:*Alates 1992 olen olnud mitme ICES töörühma (Planning Group on Commercial Catch, Discards and Biological Sampling, Study Group on Herring Assessment units in the Baltic, Baltic Fish Survey Working Group, Study Group on Multispecies Predictions in the Baltic liige ning. | 13. | Teadustöö põhisuunad | Peamised uurimisvaldkonnad on olnud nii või teisiti seotud räime ökoloogia erinevate tahkudega. Teadustegevuse võib tinglikult jagada kolme etappi. a) räime reproduktsiooni ja noorjärkude ökoloogia uuringud, milles käsitleti räime kudealade paiknemist, reproduktsiooni efektiivsust, larvide produktsiooni eri kudealadel, tekkiva põlvkonna arvukuse ja erinevate arengustaadiumite suremuse seoseid, noorjärkude toitumise bioloogiat ja jaotumise seaduspärasusi. Selle etapi olulisemad tulemused võtsin kokku kandidaaditöös “Räime varaste arengujärkude ökoloogia Läänemere kirdeosas”, Tartu, 1985. Mõningate sellesse valdkonda kuuluvate küsimustega olen tegelenud ka hiljem (Eesti rannikuvete räimekoelmute kaardistamine, räime noorjärkude ruumilise jaotumise sõltuvus hüdroloogilistest teguritest );b) räimevarude struktuuri ja dünaamika uuringud Läänemere kirdeosas, räime toitumisökoloogia s.h. selle energeetilised aspektid, räime keskmise kehakaalu pikaajaliste muutuste mehhanismi uuringud ning hüdroloogiliste tingimuste mõju uuringud . Selle etapi tulemused on osaliselt koondatud doktoriväitekirja "Herring in the North-Eastern Baltic Sea in the 1970-1990s: Ecology, Stock Structure and Fishery", Tartu-Helsinki, 1998;c) püügi s.h. erinevate püügiviiside ja püügikorralduse mõju räimerühmituste struktuurile, samuti ka varude suuruse hinnangutele.Alates 2003 osalen sihtalusuuringute programmis "Läänemere kirdeosa, Soome ja Liivi lahe ökoloogiliste allsüsteemide dünaamika ja arengu seaduspärasuste uurimine" (2003-2007) ning Teadustöölepingus Keskkonnaministeeriumiga “Läänemere rahvusvaheliselt reguleeritavate merekakavarude seisund Eesti majandusvööndis 2003.a., prognoos ja soovitused kalavarude haldamiseks 2004.a.” Finantseerija: Keskkonnainvesteeringute Keskus; |
