13.Teadustöö põhisuunad - alaealiste õiguserikkujate tüpoloogia, uurimuse tulemuseks oli alaealiste õiguserikkujate isikut, perekonda ning käitumisest iseloomustavate tunnuste alusel originaalse tüpoloogia väljatöötamine klaster-analüüsi meetodeid kasutades;
- kuritegevuse ja sotsiaalse keskkonna parameetrite seos, uurimuse tulemuseks oli Eesti erinevate piirkondade kuritegevuse ja sotsiaalsete tingimuste iseärasuste vaheliste seoste väljaselgitamine;
- kriminoloogiliste teooriate kohaldatavus Eesti kuritegevuse dünaamika selgitamisel, uurimuse tulemuseks on Eesti kuritegevuse dünaamika teoreetiliste aluste väljatöötamine;
- Eesti kohtusüsteemi ülesehitus, suutlikkus ja sõltumatuse garantiid, uurimuse tulemuseks on ettepanekud Eesti kohtusüsteemi ülesehituse ning sõltumatuse tagamise vahendite osas;
- Eesti kriminaalõiguse ja kriminaalmenetlusõiguse vastavus Euroopa Liidu finantshuvide kaitse vajadusele, uurimuse tulemuseks on ettepanekud Eesti kriminaalõiguse ja kriminaalmenetluse õiguse vastavusse viimiseks Euroopa Liidu finantshuvide kaitse vajadustega.

13.Current research program - typology of teenage delinquents, the result of the research was elaboration of innovative typology of teenage delinquents on the basis of cluster analysis of data about their personality, family and behaviour;
- interplay of characteristics of criminality and social environment, the result of the research was detection of associations between different characteristics of crime and social environment in different regions of Estonia;
- application of different theories of crime in explaining the dynamics of Estonian criminality, the result of the research is elaboration of theoretical basis for dynamics of Estonian criminality;
- the structure, capacity and independence of the Estonian judicial system, the result of the research is a list of propositions for improvement of capacity and independence of the Estonian judicial system;
- compatibility of the Estonian Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure for the needs of protection of the financial interests of the European Union, the results of the research is a list of propositions to make the Estonian Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure more compatible for the needs of protection of the financial interests of the European Union.
