reg no: | ETF3866 |
project type: | Estonian Science Foundation research grant |
subject: |
1.3. Physics |
status: | completed |
institution: | Institute of Physics at University of Tartu |
head of project: | Peeter Saari |
duration: | 01.01.1999 - 31.12.2001 |
description: | The objectives are: a) to elaborate theory of X waves, focus wave models, Bessel-Gauss pulses and other recently discovered spatio-temporally localized novel solutions to the equations of the mathematical physics, especially for their realizations in electromagnetic field and with ultrashort laser pulses; b) to work out and experimentally test possible schemes for effective generation of different localized waves in optical and tetrahertz domains; c) to study and propose prospective applications of the localized waves in nonlinear optics, incl. laser acceleration of ultrarelativistic particles, generation of coherent XUV radiation, and in other methods born by the inception of tabletop ultrahigh-intensity lasers. |
