Up to the present not enough research about properties of pinewood have been done in Estonia. Survey of technical wood properties in different growing conditions is missing. Aim of this research is to find out properties (moisture, heartwood part, density, hardness, bending strength, compression strength et al.) of pine wood in relation with growing conditions. Objects of research are pine stands on Myrtillum and Vaccinium vitis-idaea and on peatland site types. The differences in technical properties of wood depending on forest site types will be clarified. Results of the research will be the base for evaluation of wood quality stick up of our forests. |
