description: The Hansa-Network-Project: Estonia is part of similar international HANSA-Network-Project, iniciated and coordinated by Dr. Sabine Karg from the Danish National Museum in Copenhagen. The HANSA-Network-Project is created for collecting, analyzing and publishing medieval archaeobotanic data in Nordic countries.

The main aim of the Hansa-Network-Project: Estonia is to standardize Estonian medieval archaeobotanic results in accordance with the results of participating countries in the international project in order to make them available for broader and international public.

The project has part aims as follows:

a) standardizing the presentation of the results;
b) elaborating the spectrum of urban and rural nutrition during the Medieval period in the standardized form;
c) evaluation of import/export goods and incorporating the archaeobotanic research in a broader geographical and historical frame;
d) presentation of the results for a broader and international public.

The result of the project is a chapter of Estonian medieval archaeobotanical findings in international monography and surveying publications in scientific magazines.
