| description: | Eduard Tubin is one of the most eminent Estonian composers. Although his life and work has been studied by several scholars, there are still many gaps in this field. The aims of this project are shortly as follows: 1. Completion and publishing of a monograph on Tubin's life and work; 2. Analysis of those aspects of his music, which have not been studied before (first of all, harmony and tonal structure); 3. Comparison of Tubin's works with the other outstanding composers of the 20th Century. 4. Promotion of the international contacts of scholars, interested in Tubin's music. Tubin's 100th birth anniversary coincides with the end of the project (2005). For that occasion we plan to publish several books and articles, as well as to organize an International Tubin Conference. |
