description: | The silage quality is greatly influenced by making technology and the using additives. There are several technological factors which may directly or indirectly affect fermentation conditions, and therefore silage quality. Bad fermentation conditions promote the growth of undesired microbes -moulds, yeasts or bacterialpatogens and result in spoiled silage. The aim of the present proposal is to study the effects of major technological factors on silage hygienic quality. The another task of this study is to develop further an effective additives that depress both clostridial activity and fungi simultaneously and at variable fermentation conditions or pH value. The silage material used in this study is long-cut or restricted -cut legume- rich crop, fresh or wilted with dry matter (DM) concentration of 18-40% and ensiled in round big bale or in bunker silo. In this study will be used different chemical agents in combination. The chemical agents and biological additive -inoculants will be used as well. The basic additive is Niben which is developed and tested in silage laboratory. The first, a pilot silage experiments will be carried out at laboratory. Effective and promising treatments will be studied separately in field experiment. It may expect that by this information is possible to give recommendations to produces. One expect could be information about ensiling of legumes. The results can use for different purposes -basic research, advisory services or education and in practice. |
