? comparative analysis of the social trends in the transition period with the respective social development trends in the EU candidate countries;
? evaluation of the expected impact of social reforms on social convergence;
? identification of the possibilities for attaining the main objectives of the EU social agenda in Estonia.

The expected results:
Treating social convergence as a process that helps countries aspiring to the EU to approach the social level of EU countries, we shall define the main determinants for the attainment of that purpose and indicators for evaluating social convergence in the meaning of real convergence. We intend to improve the social protection models previously elaborated by the applicants to use them for evaluating social convergence.
