title: | Monitoring of bioprocesses by capillary electrophoresis |

reg no: | ETF5145 |
project type: | Estonian Science Foundation research grant |
subject: |
1.9. Genetics, Physiology and Microbiology |
status: | completed |
institution: | Tallinn Technical University |
head of project: | Mihkel Kaljurand |
duration: | 01.01.2002 - 31.12.2004 |
description: | The grant applicant has a hypotesis that if a bioreactor is connected on-line to the sample line of the pneumatic sampler developed in the TTU Institute of Chemistry (Kuldvee et al Electrophoresis, 2000, 21, No. 14, 2879-2885) which is separated from the input channel by the dialysis membrane, then it is possible to monitor the appearance of the low molecuar weight substances in real reaction time. The time resolution of monitoring is determined by the time needed for separation of analytes in the CE column . The project aims the developing of a relatively simple and inexpensive analyzer capable of monitoring a wide range of bioprocesses and other chemical reactions. The primary goal of the project is not so much to thoroughly study particular bioprocesses, but to develop and optimize analytical method using well known bioprocesses. |
