title: Development of robust methods and algorithms for control systems
reg no: ETF5170
project type: Estonian Science Foundation research grant
subject: 2.9. System Engineering and Computer Technology
status: completed
institution: Tallinn Technical University
head of project: Ennu Rüstern
duration: 01.01.2002 - 31.12.2005
description: The primary goal of the current project is the research of robust methods and algorithms and the development of engineering applications in the following problem fields:
1. Robust control and stability analysis of systems with large parameter variation;
2. Transparent fuzzy model-based control methods and algorithms for controllable systems;
3. Control of multi-rate systems;
4. Various applications of artificial neural networks and fuzzy logic for control systems.

The expected results of the project are application-oriented control techniques for dynamic systems and special software compatible with MATLAB/ SIMULINK environment for further research and development.

Industrial applications of obtained results are projected for Eesti Energia (management of large-scale systems) and AS SILMET (modernization of the control systems of technologic processes).

The project involves 3 Ph.D and several M.Sc students.
