| description: | The main aims of the proposed project are as follows: (1) To sudy the impact of technological change on the development of financial institutions and markets (possible impacts on scale and scope, efficiency, structure, regulations and business strategy of financial intermediaries) (2) To study and analyse the development of financial relationships and customer behaviour (feedbacks, customers' evaluations to the quality of financial services, influence of new technology, operation of the value creation process) (3) To study the impact of the future consolidation, universalisation, internationalisation and globalisation processes (changes in market structure, possible changes after the joining with the European Union). Expected results of the study: (1) Development of the economic theory (adjustments to the new technology and financial innovations, expected changes in customer behaviour and preferences, rationale structure of the financial mix, changing role of the monetary authority and the government in the case of joining the European Union) (2) Policy implications and recommendations for the development of the regulatory and legal framework (credibilty of the financial sector, imporatnce of information flows, the future organisation of the financial sector) on the threshold and after joining the European Union. Results of the study will be presented at the international conferences/workshops and published in edited volumes; final results of the study would be published as collective edited volume (a book). |
