description: Present research project focuses on studying Estonian culture across different cultural dimensions and syndromes. A. P. Fiske's (1992) elementary forms of social relations (I subproject); a cultural dimensions of tightness-looseness individualism-collectivism (Triandis, 1994) (II subproject); and ethnical identity (III subproject) will be explored in this project.

The purpose of the I subproject "Four Elementary Forms of Social Relations in Estonian Culture" is to analyze Estonian culture in terms of Fiske's (1992) four elementary forms of social relations including also different statistical indicators.

The purpose of the II subproject "The Variation of Cultural Syndromes" is to study the cultural syndromes tightness-looseness and individualism-collectivism and their relationships with various cultural and sociodemografical factors and elementary forms of social relations in Estonian culture.

The purpose of the III subproject "Ethnic Identity in Different Contexts and across Various Social Levels" is to study the variety of ethnic identity in different regions of Estonia.
