description: The aim of the project is to analyse how the Law of Obligations Act, the General Principles of the Civil Code Act entered into force in 2002 and other acts reforming civil law relationships influence the regulation and formation of employment relations in Estonia. The named acts alter on principle the rules of the Estonian private law that have been in force since 1960s, affecting also employment law relationships as relations of private law covering the biggest group of persons.
During the project the changes in the regulation of employment relations will be studied, the effectiveness and social consequences of new legal provisions will be analysed; also the theoretical basis for the regulation of fields that need supplementary rules will be elaborated in order to amend and improve the bill of the new Employment Contracts Act and other bills of employment law acts.
During the project the employment law practice developing in the new legal situation, as well as the impact of the acts and case law of the European Union that formed the base for the civil law reform will be examined.
In the framework of the project the legislation of the European countries affecting the elaboration of new civil law acts and the possibilities of and necessity for the implementation of the principles of corresponding legal systems in the Estonian employment law will be studied.
As a result of the project a monograph on the Estonian employment law will be written; the articles, comments and study materials will be published and proposals for the amendments of legislation will be made.
