| description: | During the first stage of the research (2003-2004), the vocabulary of the south-western Baltic-Finnic languages will be studied in order to identify and specify the prehistoric contacts of the mentioned languages, in particular the contacts of the predecessors of the referred languages within the language family and contacts with eastern and western Baltic congener languages. During the second stage of the project (2005-2006), the vocabulary of the Estonian runo songs and conceptual fragments of the Estonian dialectical vocabulary will be etymologically analysed. The research will be focused on identification and etymological analysis of the fragments of Baltic origin. The results of the research project will be published as a series of papers and will be used as completive and elaborative material for basic parts of the monographic research The vocabulary of the baltisms of the Baltic-Finnic languages. |
