title: .THE EFFECT OF LASER THERAPY ON ACCELERATION OF HEALING OF SKIN DISEASES
reg no: ETF5427
project type: Estonian Science Foundation research grant
subject: 4. Agricultural Sciences
status: accepted
institution: EAU Faculty of Veterinary Science
head of project: Kaljo Reidla
duration: 01.01.2003 -
description: ..The objectives of the research are:
1) to investigate the impact of applying laser therapy with laser apparatus Agnis-L01 (infrared laser) and copper vapour laser in the acceleration of healing of skin diseases in dogs,
2) to clarify if the extent of effect of laser-therapy would depend on the ethiology of skin disease: infectious (parasites, microbes, viruses), metabolic or traumatic causes,
3) investigate the overall effect of laser therapy in dogs,
4) to develop optimal regimens of treatment for different skin diseases by applying laser therapy with apparatus Agnis-L01 (infrared laser) and copper vapour laser.
The ultimate goal of the therapy is to shorten the recovery period and prevent complications. It is presumed that the application of laser therapy might enable to limit the extent of pharmacological treatment in skin diseases, especially in chronic ones and thus make the therapy more cost-effective.
