Data sources for the study include Parish registers, materials of landrevisions and revisions of souls from three parishes Rõuge (1661-1696), Karuse (1685-1799) and Otepää (1716-1799). The analysis covers systematically the major components of population reproduction (mortality, fertility, nuptiality) as well as household and social structure. The Project has interdisciplinary character, with links to history, particularly economic history, population science, ethnography. The main outcome of the Project is a summarising monograph for English-speaking audience which brings systematically together major findings on traditional population reproduction in Estonia.
