| description: | If compared with natural compounds, biomimetics have different structure and in most cases remain more stable if exposed to biological systems. This has made biomimetics most suitable for design of biomaterials and drugs. These compounds can be designed proceeding from the molecular mechanism of interaction of natural bioactive compounds with their targets and most often they consist of fragments of natural compounds linked by various chemical structures. In this study conjugates of peptide and nucleotide fragments as well as peptide analogs will be synthesized for application as proteome analysis tools, molecular diagnostics and precursors for drug development. These peptide analogs and peptide-nucleoside conjugates are targeted towards protein kinases, the key-position regulatory enzymes of living cell, and pharmacologically important muscarinic and P2Y nucleotide receptor subtypes. Achievement of these objectives is supported by our high level research on these enzymes and receptors, based on bio-kinetics and different computational approaches, as well as contemporary methods of molecular biology and bioorganic chemistry, including extensive experience in the field of synthesis of peptides and peptide-nucleoside conjugates. |
