description: | Rate-limiting factors in photosynthesis of wild type and transgenic plants will be investigated in laboratory and field under normal and stress conditions using contemporary biophysical and physiological methods, with the aim to understand the mechanisms of action of the stress factors on photosynthesis. Attention will be paid on such parameters as the densities of photosystems II and I per leaf area, the rate of electron transport through cytochrome b6f, kinetic properties of RuBP carboxylase-oxygenase, sugar and starch synthesis rates, etc. |
