description: Problems of dynamic behaviour and optimization of non-elastic structures are studied making use of linear and non-linear models. Visco-elastic and elastic-plastic dynamic deformations and the loss of stability are considered. Optimal orientation of fibers in an elastic composite is established under the requirement of extremal energy. Stability of cracks in non-linear structures and solids is investigated making use of the J-integral.
Ill-posed integro-differential equations related to practical problems are studied and the applicability of appropriate methods as well as their qualitative features are established.
