title: Chemistry and technology of nanocrystalline and submicronic films
reg no: SF0142515s03
project type: targeted financing
subject: 2. Engineering
status: accepted
institution: Tallinn Technical University
head of project: Malle Krunks
duration: 01.01.2003 - 31.12.2007
description: The research under the proposed project is to develop high-effective nanocrystalline and submicronic films for photovoltaics, dielectrics and phosphors by cost-effective chemical methods. In the present study chemical spray pyrolysis, electrochemical co-deposition and liquid phase epitaxy will be applied to produce the films. In the part of fundamental research the studies on the formation chemistry of compound semiconductors (CdTe, CuInS2 and CuInSe2, their solid solutions) and determination their properties by physico-chemical methods will be carried out. The development of well-grounded chemical technologies needs the further studies on the thermoanalytical behaviour of novel metal-organic precursors and phase equilibrium in the system Cd,Zn-Te,O-Cl,I. The applied research part includes the studies on the growth and properties of nano and submicronic films by physical methods. Photovoltaic solar cell structures will be prepared and characterised. The new constructions of photovoltaic devices will be developed.
