title: Analytical and numerical methods in modelling
reg no: SF0322519As03
project type: targeted financing
subject: 1.1-1.5. Exact Sciences
status: accepted
institution: Institute of Cybernetics at Tallinn Technical University
head of project: Jaan Janno
duration: 01.01.2003 - 31.12.2007
description: Sets of solutions and stability of identification problems of inhomogeneous media will be studied. Modifications of iterative regularization methods will be developed in order to widden the area of convergence of the methods. Fast solvers of integral equations using the analytic finite parts of integrals and wavelet approximations will be developed. Smoothness of functions will be described in terms of the decay rates of coefficients of their wavelet expansions in case of bad modulus of continuity. Local almost conformal mappings of plain domains will be studied. Deterministic and stochastic programs will be discretized by means of projection-iteration type methods. Statistical methods for traffic insurance will be developed and applied. The Martin-Loef type theory in mathematical logic will be further developed.
