description: | Research teams of the Dep. of Folkloristics will continue the previous line of interdisciplinary research, treating folkloristic traditional material (the language and rhetoric means of heritage texts, fictional and non-fictional narratives, folk belief, traditions and rituals) with different methodological methods. Research teams have had in the past decade a strong bias towards using the research methods of linguistics (incl. cognitivistics), cultural and social anthropology, psychology, sociology, religion history, philosophy, etc. Topics in focus include the processes and changes of globalisation as well as its opponents and the forming of opposing, local and group heritage. Intense research into genre, structure and typology will be continued. Scripts, schemas, quals, formal and informal networks in heritage will find treatment. The development of the theory of rhetorics and phraseology is a key interest. As acute topics of the day, migration, integration and conflict as expressed in narratives and belief accounts as well as the reflection of mental models - categorisation and stereotypisation ¿ are observed in heritage material. The relations between fiction and reality and the mechanisms in oral and written heritage, cross-cultural communication and changes in recent decades are highlighted. Applicational research will focus on heritage historiography and the problems of integrating and of automated text search, etc. in the case of big text corpora. |
