| description: | Current application has the task to investigate the possibilities of automatic registration and analyses of the diseases clinical symptoms on cows. Emphases will be made on limb diseases (as one of the important problem at loose housing of cows) and on respiratory problems (the physiological parameters of which are hard to acquire and elaborate by automatic means. This project will continue investigation of the problems concerning automatic health control and will become a base for elaboration of applied automatic systems for detection of limb and respiratory diseases. The newest literature of the field will be studied and detail plan for working out the apparatus will be made. Data acquisition systems for registration of limbs partial pressure and skin movement in research cowsheds will be created in co-operation with Finnish partners. An approbation of these systems will be carried out to analyse the functionality and applicability of them. Tests to study the limb partial pressure at healthy cows will be started and these data will be connected to the behaviour of cows. Methods for the monitoring of production level and health status in research cowsheds will be elaborated and approved.
