description: | Academic Occasional Poetry in Tartu in the 17th Century is planned as a three-year project in Estonia's early literary and cultural history and is concerned with literature in other languages than Estonian. The project has two parts: 1. Philological, paleographical and critical work with texts, which concerns editing the 2nd part of the electronic corpus of latin and greek academic occasional poetry by the poets of Tartu in the 17th century (the 1st part was edited as a grant project No 4639 of Estonian Science Foundation, "Academic latin occasional poetry in the period of Academia Gustaviana (1632-1656): the foundation of a critical electronic corpus.") The 2nd part consists in: a) the search, collecting and critical editing in online more than 400 occasional poems by poets connected with Tartu, which were written and appeared during the 17th century and the first years of the 18th century at the Academia Gustaviana (poems in Greek) and at Academia Gustavo-Carolina (poems in Latin and Greek), as well as other institutions and towns, b) the translation and commentary of this poetry attached to the corpus and edited in online. 2. The study of literary and cultural history on the basis of the electronic text corpus, analysing the academic occasional poetry by the poets of Tartu of the 17th century as a homogenous part of Estonia's literary and cultural history. The results will be presented as conference papers and as publications to the researchers of Estonia and Europe. |
