description: The aim of the project is to clarify the physiological mechanism mediating the influence of blood level of testosterone on the force and the power of muscle contraction. Several studies has been shown that, beside the wellknown testosterone effect on synthesis of muscle proteins, the acute application of muscle force and power correlates with blood level of testosterone. A hypothesis arised on the preconditioning effect of blood level of testosterone on force and power of muscle contraction without contribution of androgen receptors. In the present research blockade of androgen receptors will be used in order to compare dependence of muscle force and power on acute testosterone effect in condition of functioning of androgen receptors and of their blockade. It has been assumed that the results will support the hypothesis according to that the blood testosterone ensures preconditioning of nerve-muscular apparatus for maximal employment of muscle force and power. Such a kind of preconditioning would provide a novel theoretical aspect for realizing the significance of this hormone for high performance level. The confirmation of the theoretical aspect will lead to applied studies in order to clarify the conditions, which ensure increased testosterone level in blood before short term efforts requiring maximal muscle force, power or movement speed. In oder to test the mechanism of assumed testosterone effect, attention will be paid on the calcium channels and the state of central nervous system.
