description: | The main goal of the research is to offer principles and mathematical algorithms for the analysis of the efficiency and hydraulic reliability of water supply systems dependent on the rehabilitation needs. The obtained results should enable to analyze changes of water quality in water networks. The following has been planned for this purpose: 1. The analysis of the influence of water hammer on the operation of water network. It is planned to analyze the origination possibilities of water hammer, to estimate the consequences of water hammer for the pipes and for the reliability of pumping stations and formation of leakages, the influence of the system geometry on the strength of the hydraulic hammer. It is planned to carry out the evaluation of the leakage quantity and extent by using the water hammer theory and simulation models of network (EPS); 2. To develop the concept of analysis of water networks related to the hydraulic energy of the network. It is planned to use the estimate of network hydraulic energy for the analysis of rehabilitation needs and for the calibration of network simulation models. It is planned to use hydraulic energy calculated from measured values for the improvement of the quality of the models; 3. To investigate hydraulic reliability of the water network. To use hydraulic power for the analysis of the reliability of the network. Estimates of the hydraulic reliability and hydraulic power in rehabilitation of networks and in construction of self-cleaning water supply network will be given; 4. The possibilities of water quality management in networks by using different water sources will be investigated (the mixing of water from different sources in the network, modelling of the extent of influence and duration). |
