description: | General objectives of the project are as follows: * Research in the field of cemented carbides (cermets), particularly that based on titanium carbide, to find technologies to increase mechanical and tribological properties up to the level enabling utilization in complicated working conditions - wear accompanied by high mechanical loading. * Elaboration of theoretical basis for calculation and prognostication of mechanical and tribological properties. Results of the present research enable a justified selection of materials and the related technology of wear resistant cemented carbides (cermets) with enhanced mechanical and tribological properties as well as assessment of durability of such mateirals in complicated working conditions. |
