description: | The aim of this project is to develop and investigate new efficient methods and means for adaptive data and signal processing in complicated mobile/portable monitoring and conrol systems and their components (chips/microsystems), but also for development/simulation and testing of these systems/components. The systems/components; which adapt themselves to the monitoring/control object and to the environment, can be implemented and applied more easily, especially in mobile/wareable equipment. In this project we deal with several different adaptation problems arising in 1) analysis and reproduction of components of composite measurement signals using adaptation of the sampling mode, sampling frequency and several different parameters of the analyser/filter (based e.g. on a phase-locked loop or a feedbacked resonator structure) to the components of the processed signal and their parameters; 2) adaptive power management of a system, which controls the power need of the system to meet the limited supply and is thus very important in mobile/wareable (micro)systems where it can be introduced on chip-design level. On the other hand, we also investigate and develop 1) low voltage microelectronic structures (current mode circuits) based on low power technology (CMOS, SOI) and modern signal processing techniques (switched capacitor structures, sigma-delta converters) to reduce the current consumption of the above mentioned mobile (micro)systems and 2) methods and means for efficient testing different (micro)electronic components of these systems (e.g. A/D converters, but also more complicated/specific signal processing units). |
