title: Multiquantum correlations under conditions of dynamic- and hyperrotation
reg no: ETF6143
project type: Estonian Science Foundation research grant
status: accepted
institution: Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics
head of project: Ago Samoson
duration: 01.01.2005 - 31.12.2008
description: Aim of current application is to capitalize on new potential, achieved by the development of sample rotation techniques in the previous project. The study is expands to generation and measurement zero- and multiquantum coherences. The evolution of spin-system can be controlled dominantly by mechanical rotation. Influence of pulse fields has to be considered not in a sub-period timescale, but, on the contrary, over several rotation periods. It is hypothesized that main advantage stems from the fact that chemical shift scale will not be reduced. This improves accuracy of definition of spin system composition and quality of derived information.Main topics are simplification of systems of concentrated, high magnetic moment spins, implementation of the rotation sweep for study of multiquantum coherences and development of elements of quantum logic. Application of new concepts is intended in inter- and national collaboration for study various polymers and structures.
