The goal of the grant is to study the spatiotemporal mechanisms of perception of motion stimuli with the aid of classical psychophysical and pshychophysiological methods. Series of experiments will be held in 2005-2007, and motion-stimuli-related manual reaction times, timing and localization acuity and subjective confidence ratings about behavioural reactions will be measured. In some tasks also bioelectrical reactions in the brain will be registered. The more wider goal of the project is to test one of the most successful models of the motion perception, the Model of Kinematic Energy (Dzhafarov, Sekuler, Allik, 1993) and to map the process of the subtractive normalization. |
