| description: | The project is focused on a kinetic investigation of the reactions between alkoxy- and chlorosilanes and various Grignard reagents in diethyl ether and other donor solvents. The project is aimed at finding the quantitative relationships between reaction rates and the structural parameters of Grignard reagents, silanes and solvents. The project is thought as a guiding work in this scarcely investigated area. The results of the work are of fundamental significance for organosilicon chemistry and also of considerable practical value for the production of organosilicon monomers. During the year 2005 syntheses of silanes, some preliminary kinetic experiments, and kinetic measurements with chlorosilanes will be carried out. Also a new critical revision of the literature will be accomplished. |
