description: | The properties of high-temperature superconductors will be described by interband pair-transfer scenarios with the aim to extend the understanding of the basic physics in these materials (high-Tc cuprates, MgB2; novel systems). The behaviour of high-Tc cuprate transition temperature and gaps on the doping scale has been described by a model corresponding to the two-component (itinerant-defect) scenario elaborated under the ESF Grant No 4961. It exploits electron spectra created and evolving by doping. In the same framework the thermodynamic and electromagnetic properties, the isotope effect, correlation and fluctuation characteristics need to be calculated to reach a complete insight. The doping-stimulated overlap dynamics of band components allows a novel approach to the critical points and the normal state. A comparative analysis of the results is expected to serve conclusions on the debated aspects of high-Tc cuprate superconductivity mechanism and associated physics. The theory of two-gap superconductor MgB2 (ESF Grant No 4961) must be extended to the consideration of properties connected with the order parameters inhomogeneity and effects of anisotropy. The local dynamics of impurities in MgB2 will be investigated. The work on cuprates and MgB2 correlates. The project is a natural extension of the scientific activity of its personnel. It is based on original models which up to now have given results which agree with the experiment. The role of interband couplings in the superconductivity of materials actual for applications is expected to be explained. Predictions of channels which allow to regulate the desirable properties become possible. |
