description: | The academic purpose of current project is to research these myths and ideologies that we can find in the intertextual body of Estonian runo-song as well as the ways of using runo-songs by different institutions and persons for the achieving their goals. Accordingly, there will be at first hermeneutically ascertained, which mythical rudiments and ideological patterns can be found in texts of Estonian runo-songs, thereafter the research will be expanded to the problems connected with the issues of conception and reception of runo-songs. How ruling ideologies are influenced creation, performance and exploration of Estonian runo-songs; upon what the contraposition of the masculine and the feminine, the epic and the lyric is based; what can be found on the background of the mythopoetics of harmony and natural life - these are some accents of the research. At last the relations and connections between the singers, song collectors, ruling ideologies and popular concepts will be observed. During the project two international conferences will be held, and the presented papers will be published in the prereviewed proceedings. Project members will participate in the conferences abroad as well and publish their papers in the international scientific periodicals. Outcomes of the project will be new studies of high quality that will highlight several dark aspects of Estonian runo-songs and aid in establishing and international propagation of new general concept of runo-song. |
