description: | The main target of the research is to achieve a significant intensification of the processes of environmental technology reducing the needed capital investments and operation costs. The research topic involves catalytic as well as photocatalytic processes. For catalytic ozonation the reaction mechanism, duration of the catalyst operation cycle, possibilities of its regeneration and reactor optimum construction will be specified. To improve the efficiency of biological treatment of industrial wastewater and landfill leachate a new hybrid process, aerobic biooxidation together with ozonation in the presence of catalyst (GAC) will be studied. An alternative option would be to introduce the Fenton process (H2O2/Fe(II)) into the treatment schemes of industrial wastewater as the pretreatment or posttreatment stage. In the field of photocatalytic oxidation the new, activated by nitrogen titanium-based photocatalysts will be studied for the polluted air treatment. The low-temperature catalytic hydrolysis of halocarbons over the zero valent iron will be studied as well. |
