description: | The project is formed by two sub-parts – study of corpus luteum regression or luteolysis mechanisms and cholecystokinin role in different organ systems. Part A.Cessation of corpus luteum function and transformation into corpus albicans is still largly inexplicable. Animal model of pseudopregnancy developed in the University of Umea will be utilized and the study aims to reveal connections between localisation, kinetics and character of apoptotic cells during atresia of ovarian follicles and fuctional luteolysis using complex investigation methods (histological, immunohistochemical, electron microscopic, nanotechnological and SEM methods). Part B. During the last decades progressively more attention has been paid for develeopment and investigation of transgenic animals. Mice models because of their compact nature and short life cycle give broad perspectives for modelling pathological conditions, which could take years in humans. The aim of the study is to investigate morphological changes in organs (brain, cerebellum, testis, stomach, kidney) of mice with cholecystokinin overexpression (NSE-CCK), cholecystokinin CCK2 receptor insufficiency and wolframin gene deficiency using histologyical, immunohistological, electron microscopical (EM, EM+immunohistology, SEM), in situ hybridisation and nanotechnological methods in normal and pathological conditions. |
