description: | The research will elaborate a significant new concept of the national economic institutional system evolution theory. The main determinants of evolution of this system are development of the national political-social environment and the respective developments of the main/closest regional economic partners. The research is focused on the example of Estonia in the context of the Baltic Rim economic region. Particular attention in the latter connection is on the enlargement of the EU into the Baltic countries and instability of the political-economic development in Russia. The research will be conducted as Bayesian complex hypotheses-research problems, which will be solved with the help of econometric models and public choice game theoretical equilibrium principles of the contemporary political economy. The applied part includes analysis of primarily the following components and problems of the Estonian socio-economic institutional system: (1) financial sector role in providing subregional economic co-operation through the operation of economic agents network; (2) motives for the multinational corporations to enter developing markets and the ensuing local institutional improvement; (3) increasing robustness for the macroeconomic shocks from changes in the regional economic-political structure of the Baltic Rim; (4) evolution of the redistribution, social protection and welfare mechanisms and development of health care and educational systems, considering primarily subregional idiosyncrasy. Results of the research will be a significant contribution both to the evolution theory of economic systems and the respective policies of Estonia. |
