description: | The main objective of the current proposal is to thoroughly characterize the functions of plant myosins in organelle movement, in cell-to-cell transport and in morphogenesis. 1. Detailed characterization of the phenotype of myosin XI-K T-DNA insertional mutants, and the gene expression of XI-K during Arabidopsis development 2. Phenotyping T-DNA insertional mutants and of other class VIII and XI myosins. Our model system is Arabidopsis thaliana, and the methodological approach includes: 1. Analysis of T-DNA insertional mutants 2. Studies on tissue- and developmental stage-specific expression of myosins 3. Expression of GFP-myosin hybrid proteins |
