description: The health is directly related to the specific body composition parameters, and especially to bone mineral density, in addition to physical activity in people with different ages. The research is very limited in the area of possible influence of adipocytokines to bone mineral density. The main purpose of the present investigation is to study the possible influence of adiponectin, visfatin, ghrelin and leptin to bone mineral density parameters in women with different ages, different body composition, different physical fitness and different physical activity patterns. Bone mineral density is assessed in means of static (using DXA) and dynamic (using blood biochemical values that characterize bone metabolism) values. Subjects of this project are young, middle-aged premenopausal, middle-aged postmenopausal and old women. The novelty of the present investigation is the complexity of the study where different parameters that may affect bone mineral density values are taken into account. We assume that changes in different measures of bone mineral density with age are independently related to changes in the concentrations of adiponectin and/or visfatin (these adipocytokines are mainly produced by visceral adipose tissue).
