description: The acid-base equilibrium in aprotic media will be investigated. The investigation of uncharged (neutral) superbases and acids is planned. Applying NMR spectroscopy and selective enricment with the isotope markers of synthesized compounds the charge redistribution accompanied the acid-base equilibrium will be investigated. Obtained results will be used for evaluation of the quantitative descriptors characterizing the effect of individual groups and substituents to the acid-base properties of compounds. Obtained results are the basis for the designation and synthesis of novel superbases and acids.
Another purpose of this project is the investigation of kinetics and equilibrium of chemical reactions and processes. The processes in solutions and in different materials will be investigated on the basis of the corresponding NMR and other spectra. For example, chemical processes occurring in colour pigments and other components from some art and man-made objects will be investigated.
