| description: | In the context of the current project we interpret dialogue of cultures in the Arctic Region as a construction of northern peoples’ identity in the dialogue of mentalities and stereotypes. The aim of this project is to study the relationship between the northern peoples’ way of life, worldview and mentality by the example of different ethnic groups (Dolgans, Evenkis, Enetses, Tundra and Forest Nenets, Khanty, Komis) in comparative and analytical perspectives. The main goals of the project are: to analyze northern peoples’ way of life as a stabilizing factor of their culture, to study northern peoples’ worldview’s connection to their mentality and women’s role in maintaining an indigenous worldview in the traditional environment. We also try to test the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis in the context of Siberian indigenous groups. During the project, a number of fieldwork trips will be carried out, using digital technology and combined methods of ethnology, folkloristics and linguistics. As a result of this project, 4 PhD dissertations will be prepared, 1 anthropological film made, several monographs and a volume of articles published. We also plan to participate in several international scientific forums and publish articles in international scientific journals. |
