description: We propose to conduct research on spline approximation methods for differential and integral equations, first of all to study such main properties as stability and convergence. In the case of second kind Volterra integral equations we intend to establish a quite comprehensive description of the behaviour of step-by-step collocation with the splines of arbitrary degree and arbitrary smoothness.
For Fredholm integral equations it is planned to study the implementation of cubic spline collocation method. We will study the preservation of such geometric properties as monotonicity and convexity in histopolation with rational and polynomial splines. We try to find adequate methods of actual finding of the solution as a natural spline for smoothing problems with obstacles. For linear B-wavelets we intend to give a detailed analysis of stability properties. We plan to collaborate with scientists in economics in the investigation of methods and equations of financial mathematics, in particular, the impact of financial leverage on risk. Particular studies of Estonian financial market and enterprises are intended.
