1. To evaluate the factors from the side of a student, family and school, that may influence dropping out of school and to figure out the most important associations.
2. To compare these factors listed between the schools that have and that have not joined World Health Organisation movement of Health Promoting Schools.

In more detail, we plan to evaluate
(1) student`s attitude towards studying, their academic performance, physical and mental health and health related behaviour
(2) family`s socio-economic status and parental attitude towards studying
(3) the atmosphere at school, democracy, participation, empowerment, partnership, collaboration and supportive environments
(4) the association between dropping out of school; academic performance, and the factors listed above inorder to figure out the most important relationships.

The results of this study give us a possibility to describe the situation and determinants of dropping out of school in Estonia. These results can be used to figure out areas with most importance, that must be changed to decrease the number of drop-outs.
This study also gives us a possibility to evaluate the effectiveness of WHO movement of Health Promoting Schools.
