description: | The aim of the project is to couple invariance of random factors, experimental design and generalized linear mixed models (GLMM). The GLMM present a unified and accessible treatment of the newest statistical methods for analyzing correlated, nonnormally distributed data. It is assumed that factors are invariant under subgroups of permutations, for example the group of all permutations or the subgroup of shift permutations. The second goal is to understand how one shall look upon interactions and invariance in the framework of GLMM. We shall try to resolve a classical problem how to handle the interactions between random and fixed factors. Sometimes factor levels of interaction terms are considered to be independent and sometimes restricted to sum to zero over the levels of the fixed factor. Theory has hitherto not given a hint how to choose between these two approaches. |
